“Transmission control unit”, “TCU” and “mechatronics” are often used in the same way, but can refer to different assemblies. We assign the request to the correct test path based on vehicle, transmission type, full part number and error code.
Device version, parts and hardware status, error codes and vehicle assignment form the basis for a serious repair assessment.
Assess communication, power supply, internal errors and abnormal data statuses based on the specific device design.
Check electronic error patterns and individually evaluate a possible repair. Not every defect and not every TCU can be repaired.
Transfer data from the original device to a technically suitable replacement device if the device, data status and procedure allow this.
Determine the required coding, basic settings, adaptation values and final diagnostics after repair or replacement.
Assign device families correctly
Designations such as DQ200, DQ250, DL382, DL501, 6HP or 8HP describe transmission or device families. They are not a promise of repair. The decisive factors are the complete OE part number, hardware version, error code and the actual condition.
Inquiries about DSG and mechatronic controls from VW, Audi, SEAT and Škoda are checked according to part version and error pattern.
Transmission controls of various automatic systems are technically classified based on their complete identification.
Fault codes, starting or communication problems and unusual shifting behaviour support the preliminary assessment.
When data is transferred, hardware, software, part number and vehicle assignment must technically match.
This is how the preliminary examination works
A photo of the nameplate and a diagnostic report are particularly helpful. The file upload in the request form remains voluntary.
Specify the make, model, model year, engine and transmission type.
Send full OE number, letter index and photo of the control unit.
Submit DTC, diagnostic log and detailed description of the error behavior.
Repair, data transfer and further diagnostic options are assessed individually.
Now send the part number, error code and vehicle data and have it checked for repairability.
